Our Staff

Dr. Tyson Swigart (DC, CCSP, CSCS) is a Cum Laude graduate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. He has completed post-graduate coursework to become a Board Certified Sports Physician, and is currently pursuing Board Certification in Orthopedics. He obtained his bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland in exercise physiology, where he worked as a conditioning coach and trainer. His vision with Southpointe Chiropractic and Fitness has been to create a single health facility where individuals can have access to the leading experts on musculoskeletal injuries, exercise, nutrition, and massage.

Aliceson Yates (BS, CCN CPT) is western Pennsylvania's leading expert t on low-carbohydrate nutrition. Mrs. Yates graduated from the University of Maryland in 1996 with a degree in dietetics, and has worked with leading .experts in the nutrition field for the past 8 years. Most recently, she worked with the late Dr. Atkins in New York City and has spoken nationally as a representative for the Atkin's Center For Complimentary Medicine. She is a certified personal trainer as well as a certified clinical nutritionist Her extensive background has allowed her to develop unique weight loss solutions for even the most challenging cases.

Marcella Swigart (RN) is a 1997 graduate of Shady Side School of Nursing. She is ACLS certified and has worked extensively with cardiac and acute trauma cases for the past 7 years. She works at Southpointe Chiropractic and Fitness by providing advanced cardiac screening and coordinates the laboratory portion of our nutritional programs.

Kara Adkins (C.A.) began her chiropractic career 7 years ago and has been with Southpointe Chiropractic and Fitness for 6 of those years. She has many responsibilities in and out of the office. Kara has designed our newsletter for the last 3 years. As our “new patient liaison”, she helps new patients feel comfortable and understand the treatment and therapy they many receive. Kara adds an energetic feel to the office and plans on continuing her education in the chiropractic field.

Leslie Julius (BS, CPT) began her personal training career in May of 2007. She has certification from the International Sports Sciences Association and the American Association of Fitness Professionals. Leslie is a 2008 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Exercise Science. She will continue her education with the Doctoral of Physical Therapy program at University of Pittsburgh beginning in June of 2009.
